I’m Renzo Franceschini — a senior software engineer based in Italy, with nearly a decade of professional experience across Python, TypeScript, Rust, Swift, and Java. I’ve led backend teams and projects at EssilorLuxottica, PwC, Forian / Helix Technologies, and others, usually as Tech Lead or Main Backend Engineer — setting standards, reviewing PRs, planning roadmaps, and shipping maintainable systems.
Currently I’m a Senior Software Engineer — AI Evaluation at BespokeLabs, engineering AI agent evaluation benchmarks and designing multi-layered debugging scenarios that test whether LLM agents can reason through real-world software architecture.
My signature open-source work is the Guard-Core ecosystem — a framework-agnostic API security platform with thin adapters for FastAPI, Flask, Django and Tornado, a TypeScript port with adapters for Express/Fastify/Hono/NestJS, a Rust port on the way, a companion telemetry agent, and a hosted SaaS (marketing site, dashboard, interactive playground, and public API). Sole maintainer across the stack, with 100% test coverage as a floor — not a stretch goal.
Right now my main focus is RoboCo — an AI Agents Company: a virtual organization of 25 AI agents and one human CEO (me), wired to run as a complete software-development workforce. A Board, a Main PM, and Backend / Frontend / UX-UI cells push every task through a real build → review → document → merge pipeline — where only the human ever merges to master. It’s built on FastAPI, Postgres, Redis and MCP, with a RAG knowledge base feeding the agents and a live control panel over the whole org.
When I’m not on either of those, you’ll catch me writing GitHub Actions, tinkering with AI agent infrastructure, and contributing to whatever open source I happen to be using at the time.
